One of India’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges Unocoin has announced, they will provide the facility to Top-Up the FASTag accounts using Bitcoin to their app users.
Unocoin, a Bengaluru-based technology startup that is also India’s first entrant into the Bitcoin industry announced the launch of a new feature in their app to support users with FASTag account top-ups and hassle-free interstate commute on 21st September 2021.
Now Unocoin users can Top-Up their FASTag accounts using Bitcoin. To avail of this facility, the Unocoin app users need to deposit or purchase Bitcoin (BTC) in their wallet along with a pre-secured FASTag sticker. There are 17 different operators that will be available in the application to Top-up the FASTag account.
After selecting the operator the user will be required to enter his/her vehicle registration number and FASTag top-up amount. The Top-Up amount will be available between ₹ 100 – ₹ 10,000. One good thing is that Unocoin will not charge any extra amount for this facility. Users can make unlimited transactions throughout the day, but the only thing is he/she needs the sufficient amount of Bitcoin.
What is FASTag?
FASTag is an electronic toll deduction system that enables contactless payment for vehicles. FASTag is operated by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
Unocoin CEO & Co-Founder Sathvik Vishwanath said, “In a bid to celebrate the increased usage of Crypto users on our platform, we introduced bitcoin as a new mode of payment gateway for FASTag. With this development, Unocoin aims to make the interstate travels seamless and encourage more Indians to adopt this smooth method of payment for various other transactions as well”.
